Joint Concert with St Paul’s School

Joint Concert with St Paul’s School

On Thursday 15 September, SPGS teamed up with the boys’ school to deliver a wonderful Joint Concert in the Great Hall.

This featured an SATB choir singing Schubert’s Mass in G major accompanied by a small orchestra and conducted by Mr Wilderspin from SPS. There were some lovely soloists from both schools including Simone, Amanda and Amara (all VIII). After a short pause, the large orchestra treated us to Saint-Saëns’ Third Symphony in C minor, conducted by Mr O’Hara. Sometimes known as the Organ Symphony, it was wonderful to hear the SPGS organ in full flight with a full scale orchestra. We enjoyed seeing the hall filled with people again as students from both schools worked together to deliver a musical tour de force. Congratulations to all those involved and thank you to all the teachers and O&A staff who helped in the process.
