Write On Art Competition

Write On Art Competition

Write On Art is a national competition organised by Art UK and the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art.

This year two students in the VI entered. Alexa chose Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère and Medha wrote about a portrait of Percy Bysshe Shelley by Alfred Clint. Both tackled the demand for a short response to their chosen words beautifully and were shortlisted for the Year 10 and 11 category. Alexa was lucky enough to be named a runner up for which she was rewarded with £100. Here they are outside the Mellon Centre with Andrew Ellis (Director of Art UK) and Sarah Turner (Deputy of Paul Mellon Centre). We congratulate them and Head of History of Art, Miss Evans, hopes this will inspire many more to think about entering for the 2023 competition. It is open to anyone from the V through to the VIII.
