These past few weeks we have been rehearsing, learning our lines and developing a deeper understanding of our characters. Finally, the night of the performance arrived! We excitedly got ready and put on the amazing costumes and set up our props. The nerves were starting to appear but after warming up and wishing each other good luck, we were ready to give it our best!
Twelfth Night was an imaginative interpretation, set in contemporary times (but speaking in Shakespearean) with the entire cast on stage acting as a jazz band! The performance included energetic dances, drunken acts and a hilarious performance from Malvolio, attempting to seduce Olivia! The performance was a huge success with the audience, provoking many laughs!
The cast is very grateful to all the teachers, catering staff, organisers and of course, Ms Strong for the amazing costumes and Mr Wakerell for the lights and sound. And an especially big thanks from all the students to Ms Foley and Ms Debney for directing the plays and their immense support and dedication to ensuring our performances were the best they could be. We greatly enjoyed the experience and are already looking forward to the summer performance!
