Wellbeing Week 2024

Every year, SPGS has a 'Wellbeing Week', and this year's was better than ever!

The Great Hall was the centre of the festivities – each breaktime, as a new Vox radio playlist filled the room, students could come and blow bubbles, collect stickers and even help themselves to some of the lollipops on display.

Even early mornings were brightened by the dawn of Wellbeing Week. At the student entrance, anyone arriving on time was offered a sample of a smoothie specially prepared by the kitchen staff. Anyone looking for a taste of film rather than the gourmet was in for a treat too, with cinema club running every lunch in rooms 114 and 115, and for a very special mystical extra, a magician popped into several classrooms to perform all through Wednesday.

The Senior School had its own set of festivities. With the wire and beads provided, anyone with a free period or spare lunchtime could make friendship bracelet, or mugs which could be decorated with ceramic pens, and either taken home or put to good use in the kitchen. Form time was replaced by bingo, common room showings of Friends, and, by popular demand, an VIII lie-in on Thursday.

On the Lawn, on top of tie-dye and various sightings of pets brought in by several teachers, Mr Connor and his dog Echo performed a very exciting, exclusive dog show for us.

The highlight of the week, and a perfect cherry to top of Wellbeing Week, was the visit from an ice cream van on Friday afternoon. We are all so grateful to all the teachers and staff for creating such a special week for us, and we can’t wait for Wellbeing Week’s return next year!
