Fours Head and Wallingford Head

Fours Head and Wallingford Head

In the final few weeks of last term, the boat club raced both Fours Head and Wallingford Head.

At the Fours Head, all senior crews had strong races, with the two coxed fours coming 2nd and 14th and the coxless four finishing in 12th position. The J16s raced a coxed four, which put in a good effort, in a difficult competition, to finish 18th. At Wallingford Head, unfortunately only the 1st division were able to compete, due to increasingly inclement weather which made racing against a strong stream and heavy winds difficult even earlier in the day. Our senior 8+ raced in the U23 category, stepping up into battling it out with some university crews to finish a respectable 8th. Two senior coxed fours raced in the J18 category, coming 2nd and 5th, and enjoying some encouraging pre-race chat with their competitors at Brookes. The first term of the year has shown promising results, and it looks as if we are set to have a strong season this New Year.
