Creative Writing trip

On Monday 8 April, aspiring writers in the V, VI and VII travelled to Ty Newydd Writing Centre in Wales.

After a whirlwind start to our journey, we received a warm welcome from the lovely Miriam and Tony. On the first evening, we had the chance to meet the amazing two writers who would be staying with us for the week: Mary Colson, a writer for The Royal Literary Fund and Sophie Mackintosh, best known for her Booker-Prize-nominated novel, The Water Cure. Each day, we began with two enlightening workshops where we worked with the writers on different types of writing forms and styles. In the afternoons we had free time to write and explore the area, including one very muddy walk, much to the despair of our unsuitable walking shoes!
